Jones Bar

Turning Problems into Opportunities: When the Jones family asked us to quote on a bar, we were concerned about using this wall for the back bar, as it had two outdoor windows which were hard to work around. Then, an idea occurred to us: convert this liability into an asset! And so we designed stained glass windows into the upper back bar, with some of the stained glass panes in front of the house windows, allowing natural daylight to pass through, and with back-lighting behind all of the windows. With the lights turned on, you cannot tell which panes have natural lighting and which have artificial lighting. We also reduced cabinetry costs by eliminating the cabinets between the center cabinet and outboard cabinet, spanning this area with glass shelves to achieve the functionality of a cabinet without the cost of a cabinet.  We further reduced costs by providing flat panel doors behind the bar (where they are not in the spotlight), while investing in solid cherry raised panels for the bar front, where you get the "most bang for the buck". The mirrors behind all five display areas create a "space amplifying" effect, while eliminating the cost of staining and lacquering cherry cabinet backs. As another cost-saving feature, we provided laminated countertops. Can you tell this is not granite?
