Wozniak Home Office

"Creativity & workmanship - beautiful final product."

Chuck Wozniak had inherited a beautiful antique oak desk, used by his father for decades. Chuck wanted to make this desk the centerpiece of his home office, but needed matching office furniture to complete the room, and, from his previous experience* with MapleTree, he felt confident that MapleTree could design and build the unique pieces that he envisioned.  After several iterations of design drawings and priced proposals, MapleTree created a set of designs that met Chuck’s functional needs; matched the style of the existing desk; and met Chuck’s budget requirements for the project. Chuck then placed an order with MapleTree, to build the pieces as designed and carefully specified in MapleTree’s final priced proposal. (As standard procedure, MapleTree develops well-organized priced proposals containing detailed drawings and specifications for potential customers to consider, at no charge and with no obligation (link to typical Furniture Specification and Drawing, in “Request a Proposal” section).

As the photos show, MapleTree matched the desk’s wood species (white oak) and wood stain color. In addition, MapleTree created moldings that matched those of the desk, and found hardware that echoed that of the desk. Other details include inset doors and drawers, with details matching the desk’s drawers.  Visiting friends find it hard to believe that the desk and furniture were not originally crafted together as a set, and are amazed to learn that the supporting pieces were made recently.

*Background: Several years beforehand, after a recommendation by WorldWide Sound’s Rob Priebel, MapleTree had developed a creative, cost-effective solution to a 3-D geometry challenge around the Wozniak’s fireplace, reworking and adding to existing cabinetry in order to accommodate a new television, components and speakers, avoiding a costly replacement of the entire set of existing cabinets.  As is so often the case with MapleTree customers, MapleTree’s team proved itself to the Wozniaks, and they looked no further when they needed home office furniture, epitomizing the relationship building that is at the core of MapleTree’s mission
